When we think of wireless Internet and do not seem to understand how it works. The only clear understanding of it is the fact that there are no wires to worry about. Well, looking into a website http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/0600/wireless/default.aspx that explains how the wireless communication that is used through cell phones, wireless Internet and wireless hand held devices works. When it comes to wireless instead of having a connection directly to the web server a intermediate sever is involved to translate the file extensions thaat identify the type of file that is being used and then this can be send to the web server to make possible the request of thr user. certain addition have to be added to the web server like the website states"you must add a new MIME type of text/vnd.wap.wml, with a file extension of wml. You must also add a 1-bit black and white bitmap image if you plan to use graphics in your service. This requires its own MIME type of image/bmp, with a file extension of bmp. Other useful MIME types include application/x-up-alert and application/x-up-cacheop." In having this type of service I am able to connect to the internet in places where wireless is avilable intstead of just having to be in a room. This also expands the reach for people all around to connect without a restrictin to a certain place.
